Tech Tuesday - Slide Scanning - FotoBridge

Sometimes I get lost looking at old pictures, particularly when they include these special people:
Bubba and Grandma at  Bantam Lake, CT
That's why it is so important to me to get Bubba's pictures out of slides and into a format that can be easily enjoyed by others. I want my kids and relatives to get lost too. My own attempts at slide scanning were not entirely successful. If scanning just a few slides, using my Epson Perfection 4490 works. For anything more than a few, it is more economical and efficient to use a slide scanning service.

Enter FotoBridge. My sister chose FotoBridge to scan 250 slides. The price was right and the results were spectacular:

FotoBridge offers several different convenient slide scanning packages and options, including image quality of 2000 to 4000 dpi, TIFF format and a DVD slide show formatted for TV. FotoBridge also scans prints, negatives, film and video and all scanning is done in the United States. The website is intuitive, appealing and easy to navigate.

To get you started, FotoBridge has kindly offered the readers of The Scrappy Genealogist a ten percent discount.* Just go to FotoBridge and type the code "scrappyten" into the coupon box. Thank you FotoBridge

M.J. is at my parents tonight picking up a box of slides to send off for scanning. This discount is burning a hole in my pocket!

  1. Oh, I just might try this! Thanks for finagling the discount. I have loads of slides, and I have to sort through and convert the good ones. I like that they do video and film, too.
